The Money Trail To Nowhere
____________________________________________________________________
Money Trail to Nowhere...
Has anyone heard of the project "Center For Instrumented Critical Infrastructure"? I have not, and apparently neither has Congress.
In a nutshell, Rep. John Murtha has earmarked one million dollars for the project. Rep. Peter Visclosky of Indiana is the chair of the subcommittee overseeing the project. Anyone in charge of a project should know the ins and outs of it, right? Not in our government. See the response by Visclosky when grilled by Rep. Jeff Flake Here.
Passing Gas
Is Iran really a threat to the United States? If you think they aren't, you better wake up and do a little research. Should we bomb the hell out of them? No. I think with the way their economy is going , the people will take care of Armegeddon-John their own way.
Flip Flop... Republican Style
I thought that during one of President Bush's speeches somewhere around the time we invaded Iraq he stated that we would not, absolutely, negotiate with terrorists. Remember " Your either with us or against us"? Yeah, right...See the turnaround Here
...And on a casual note
I think if America focused on the war in a different light, we may understand a little better why we are fighting terrorism, and particularly, in Iraq. Muslim terrorists are barbarians, plain and simple. This is a subject I am fairly well versed in and while I don't favor the war in Iraq (For logistics reasons) I do favor what we are doing in taking the war to their homeland. Trust me, it needs to be done but it needs to be done in an expedient manner. While people may argue whether or not it is a just war, or whether Bush lied to get us there, has no relevance now. What matters is that we are already there and we must, for our national security, finish the job. We can investigate, impeach, argue, point fingers, etc. later, when our national security is assured.

Murtha's Mistake
(I'm catchin' up, so be patient...)
Recently, Talk show host Rusty Humphries was in London and interviewed Abu Saif, a Muslim leader in London and what Saif says should scare the hell out of you.
And Finally, What in the world is going on with John McCain? The hired help have jumped ship and are swimming for their lives. I had an inkling McCain was losing it when he started an impromptu "BOMB BOMB BOMB, BOMB BOMB IRAN" at the news conference awhile back. Brian Wilson, he is not!
Flashback: Warmongers or Patriots?
2004 Terry M. Gatewood
With all the anti-war protests and Hollywood celebrities going to bat for a peaceable solution to the Iraqi crisis, you have to wonder why anyone in their right mind would want to keep a dictator of the caliber of Saddam Hussein in power. Is it really worth risking the lives of innocent people-not only here in America, but all over the world? The Hollywood elitists and the bleeding-heart liberals say he poses no threat to us, let alone anyone else. They say he doesn’t have the so-called weapons of mass destruction to do any harm, and we have his word on it. They say that President Bush is a warmonger and anyone who supports the use of force against Iraq is a warmonger also. But are we?
A warmonger, by loose definition, is a person or people who fight wars for the sake of fighting wars, or to take control of land or people, by force, to serve their own needs or desires. The Vikings and their infamous exploits are an example of warmongering. They didn’t go into other lands to stave off the threat of an attack; they just wanted the gold and the women. When the Vikings went to ancient Scotland and took control of the Western Isles and Highlands, the Scots drove them out under the leadership of Somerled, Lord of the Isles (who, incidentally, was of Norse decent) He had had enough of the rape and pillaging of his adopted homeland. Was Somerled a warmonger just because he used force to rid Scotland of the Vikings? No, he was a protector of his people who were sending a message to the Vikings or anyone else who might want to invade his home.
If you ask anyone who has ever fought in a war, they will tell you it is ugly, inhumane and so traumatic that the average person couldn’t comprehend what death and destruction really is. They will tell you that they would not want to ever, ever have to go through that experience again. They will also tell you that they would, in a heart beat, go fight for their country because it still is, with all of it’s problems, the greatest nation in the world. They did what they had to do and came home. Did they want to go in the first place? Most of them, no. They weren’t warmongers, just patriots who believed in the fundamental values of our nation.
With the above example in place, I ask you this: Do you want to go to war? I don’t. Being a cop, I see ugly every day and have seen enough trauma to effect me for a lifetime. Do I go to work hoping to see a decapitated 10 year old in an auto accident? Do I want to see a woman, or a child for that matter, that has been beaten because they didn’t do what they were told or because the spouse was so drunk he couldn’t control his temper? No, but I know that everyday I am out there I am making a difference, and that is what keeps me going to work. I think the same applies to our men and women in uniform. They don’t want war. They have families at home, like you and me, and want to live long enough to raise them and love them. They also have to protect that family from threats, foreign and domestic because, when the day is over, no one else is going to protect us.
As with most Americans, I want to live a quiet, peaceful life and get along with everyone. I don’t want to have to fight and kill anyone, but if it means protecting future generations from dictators like Hussein, I would.
In a heartbeat.

Hodge-Podge of the Day
Intelligence and security officials in the U.S. say that Al-Qaeda is rebuilding and are attempting to insert cells in this country. NEWS FLASH, GENIUSES: They are already here. They've been here. They probably just walked right across the Mexican border. They have been here setting up shop for years and just quietly biding their time. Get ready for fighting in the streets. Want to know what Islamic Terrorists are thinking? Go Here
Has anyone noticed the crappy job our new congress is doing? So far they have managed to open 300 or so investigations into the Bush administration on everything from the war in Iraq to whether George Bush wears boxers or briefs. They still want revenge from the 2000 elections I guess.
On the same note, does the current Democratic-run congress realize that they are stepping over Constitutional boundries by enacting legislation telling the President how to run the war? They are also trampling the constitution by threatening criminal subpoena's in regards to President Bush and his personal papers on the firings of the U.S. Attorneys. If he wants to fire all the U.S. Attorneys, that's his call, and Congress can't do a damned thing about it. They serve at the presidents pleasure, plain and simple. President Clinton fired something like nearly all of them, and no one seems to think that was innappropriate. Like I said, the current Congress could care less about running the country.
Welcome!
This blog is politically oriented because it is time to counter partisan politics. If you are of the politically correct mindset, you may as well just go somewhere else. I do not cower or bend to anyone's ideology but my own. I don't play word games and I don't pull punches. As the title of my blog states, I take aim. It doesn't matter if you are a Democrat, Republican, liberal, conservative, black, white, Christian or other. I take aim at those who use their ideology to subvert the greatest country in the world and it's constitution.
Sit back and watch how it's done. I think if people start think in terms of right and wrong instead of right or left, we can start making this country great once again. It takes "Big Onions" to go against the status quo and stand up for what you believe in. I've got big onions and I'm not afraid to use them. Just ask my kids!
